Laser Ablation uses high energy laser pulses to vaporize unwanted materials from a surface without damage to the substrate. All materials have a specific ablation threshold, or energy required to remove them, and laser ablation systems can be adjusted to the proper threshold to vaporize the unwanted material. All other material is rejected by the laser, leaving the surface intact and undamaged. Because our systems can be adjusted to specific materials, the process can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, including delicate surfaces where other methods may fail or damage the surface.
